The foremost aim of the Foundation Education in Action is national educational reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, leading by example.  Its instruments are specifically developed teacher training programs implemented by the Center for Professional Development of Teachers (CPDT) and the United World College in Mostar, which is often referred to as a “lighthouse for education in BiH”, because it represents a practical example of an innovative, 21st century, student-oriented, multicultural educational model.

In seeking to consolidate a model for education in a post-conflict society, the Foundation fosters international links and cooperation, recognizing that the future of BiH lies in integration within the European Community.  But the history and the future of Bosnia are inextricably bound up with the problems and challenges of the Western Balkans. The Foundation is therefore seeking to establish a regional identity and relevance.

Currently the Foundation is implementing several projects in the area of pre-service and in-service teacher training in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the region. It counts with a number of key experts with a long term experience in implementing education reforms and integrating contemporary teaching methods into training of future education professionals (pre-service) and life-long learning of teachers, experienced in collaboration with universities and local education authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
